Onsite Waste Water Loan Program
An estimated 100,000 outdated septic systems exist in Iowa which improperly treat waste and contribute to lake, stream and groundwater contamination. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources created a loan program (click here for more information) which off sets some of interest rate charges in an effort to encourage homeowners to upgrade their faulty septic systems. The homeowner simply applies for a 0-3% loan through their hometown bank. Grundy County is a participating county and applying for a septic permit (Click here for Septic System Application) is the first step.
